October 1st, 2005: We really had two full days of music this weekend. On both Friday and Saturday nights, "The Cell" played together with "Sugar Mountain" from Spain and "Lizard" from Germany for the International Southern Rock and Blues Festival called "Gator Party", which is held in two different cities in Germany. "Sugar Mountain" (link to them in the "Links" section of the website), which plays excellent blues rock and rock 'n roll, took the stage first and set the bar for the other two bands to meet. It was a difficult proposition but "The Cell" followed and rocked the house. As a cherry on top, "Lizard"(link to them in the "Links" section of the website), which is considered the best Southern Rock band in Europe (and for good reason!), played last and really took the audience over the top. All bands received encores on both evenings and the audience really had a good time. True music fans of Southern Rock and Blues attended these two events and they got their money's worth! At the end of the weekend, all three bands became good friends and discussions (translated as talking, singing, yelling and drinking) were held to the early morning hours of both evenings. A result of these discussions, there may be a trip for "The Cell" to play together with "Sugar Mountain" in Spain, a trip for "Sugar Mountain" to the Czech Republic to play together with "The Cell" and a trip to The Czech Republic for "Lizard". Stay tuned! |

August 24th, 2005: On this evening, we played an outdoor motorcycle festival in the city of Roznov pod Radhostem (located in the Northeast part of the Czech Republic near the border with Slovakia). The trip there was long and tiring but upon arrival, we really came to life. The southern rock band, MBA, was heating things up on stage and not long after we took the stage. There was a great atmosphere at this festival and the people had a lot of fun. The band was feeling good and we played well, confirmed by the two encores we received. After our set, the audience was treated to a stripper and fire eater/breather. The last band to go on for the festival was "Pumpa" and they rocked the scene, as always. All in all, a great time was had by all in Moravia (this section of the Czech Republic). |

August 22nd, 2005: We had a very interesting concert at an Elementary School in Prague 3 where David (singer for The Cell) teaches conversational English. The kids loved the music and had a lot of fun dancing and generally cutting up. It was very different for us to play to such a young audience but they were very appreciative and really enjoyed the performance. To tell the truth, we really liked it too! |

August 20th, 2005. We were really busy this weekend, but had a great time! On Friday, we played for a motorcycle outdoor festival in Racicich u Steti (about 30 miles outside of the capital city of Prague). It was held at a rowing club on the river. Lots of space, no reverb, and lots of loud and fast bikes! On Saturday, we travelled far from home to Chodova Plana (near the German border) where we played for a big party at the beer factory Chodovar. There were young and old alike at this celebration and we were surprised on how much the little kids liked our brand of blues and rock. Both kids and their parents were dancing in front of the podium, while the remaining crowd enjoyed the music and drank their fair share of Chodovar beer! We were lucky that during our performance the rain did not fall. But the band that followed us, Cobra, were not so lucky! But still, a fun time was had by all! |

August 13th, 2005. On this Saturday night, we had a concert at Klub Vagon (Narodni Trida street)in the center of Prague. It was a Blues Session night, hosted by Jarda Hula, featuring "The Cell" and the excellent blues band "Slow Fingers". There was a good turnout of people and at the end of the evening, "Slow Fingers", Jarda Hula (harmonica), Michal Benes (guitar player from "The Cell") and Brad (American in Prague on guitar) jammed together on a couple of songs. It was a fantastic evening of blues. |
