Last week, The Cell was the opening band for ZZ Top at the Tesla Arena show in Prague. The band met and talked with the three guys from the „Little ole band from Texas“ after their soundcheck before the show. Really nice guys and a joy to speak with. We gave each member a super large bottle of rum from one of the local distilleries in the Czech Republic. The label on each of the three bottles featured a picture of each member of the band. Billy, Dusty and Frank will have many a happy nights with this memento from Prague! The total number of fans at the Tesla Arena show was about 9,000. We played our set starting at 8:30 and were pleased to see that the ZZ Top fans enjoyed our music. We couldn’t have asked for a better reception. Our show went off without a hitch and then ZZ Top hit the stage to put the whole event into overdrive. ZZ Top really rocked the house and we feel very blessed to have been a part of it. A really fantastic evening for us and the arena full of fans.

We recently returned from our first USA tour in Louisiana this past Apríl. We played five concerts in Lafayette and also had one concert at a fantastic old roadhouse located in Varnado, Louisiana. To help promote our concerts, David traveled to Louisiana in January of this year for newspaper and radio interviews. During his time there he was interviewed on three radio stations and shortly afterwards, his interview appeared in three newspapers. When the band arrived in Apríl, they were featured in 5 newspapers, a radio station and played live on the two largest TV morning shows in the area. The band was a little anxious about bringing „Made in the Czech Republic“blues to its homeland but thankfully, our music was greeted with open arms by the Louisiana natives. The concerts being very successful. In our off time from the concerts, the band traveled to see the Gulf of Mexico, took a boat ride on the Vermillion river in Lafayette and made a trip to New Orleans to see this great city of music and musicians. A fantastic city which every member of the band will remember for a lifetime! Thank you Lafayette and Louisiana for being such gracious hosts!

NEWS FLASH! The Cell has been picked to be the opening band for ZZ TOP in Prague on May 26th! The concert will be held at Tesla Arena in downtown Prague. The band is extremely excited about this concert and can now see that all of the hard work throughout the past 7 years is finally paying off. The Cell will still be fresh off of their American tour for this concert so should be tight and in top form. We hope to see you there!

The Cell will be going down to Louisiana in April for their first American tour. The group will be heading down south on April 16th and will be staying until April 28th. The band planned their first American tour in Louisiana to coincide with the Festival International in the city of Lafayette, Louisiana. This festival features international bands from all over the world and brings tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world to the Lafayette area every year. A total of six concerts are scheduled for this tour, one of which is at the famous concert venue "Grant Street Dance Hall" in downtown Lafayette. The concert at Grant Street will be on the grand opening day of the Festival International. We will also be playing at Marley's (Lafayette), Blue Moon Saloon (Lafayette), Shaker's (Lafayette), Saloon 308 (Scott) and Cowboy's (Lafayette). A list of all venues and concert dates can be found on the "Concert" section of the website.

The response from the local media to The Cell's first American tour has been fantastic. David had made a pre-tour trip to Louisiana in January of this year for interviews, promotion of the tour and to meet with the venues where the group will be performing. During his two week stint there, David was interviewed on the evening news for the Fox TV network, did live interviews on three radio stations and had a full-length feature article on him and the band appear in "The Daily Advertiser", which is the largest daily newspaper in this part of Louisiana.

When The Cell arrives in Louisiana, they will be interviewed and play live on two of the most popular local morning TV shows (CBS and ABC). They will also be interviewed and play a live acoustic set on the popular country radio station "The Dawg 97.3 FM". In addition to the live performances, the band will be interviewed on another 6 radio stations and be featured in at least six newspapers/magazines. Negotiations for additional media is still in progress.

We already received word that our friends and fans in Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Florida will be making a trip deep down into cajun country for our concerts and we want to invite the rest of you from the southern states to come on down to listen to some good 'ole "Souther-fried Bohemian Blues Rock". We'll make sure that everyone in the area knows that The Cell is in town and are taking NO PRISONERS! We look forward to seeing you there!

The Fall Southern Rock Night in Hrmenin came on a cold and wintery night. Lucky for us it was nice and toasty in the Old Flour Mill. We were together again this evening with our friends Blue Rocket, which played fantastic! We took the stage afterwards and our guitarist Michal debuted his new tube combo the 15 watt HOT. And boy did he play the shit out of that thang! Afterwards, we had a jam session with the members of the MBA Band, Blue Rocket and members of the audience. Bluesrock, country, pop, jazz, rock and roll were some of the flavors heard during the jam session. We closed out the evening with some Led Zepplin. A night to remember and we will since it was our last concert of 2008.

Friday, October 24th – Lucky Pero in Jindrichov Hradec. We traveled to southern Czech Republic for this concert and were greeted there by many of our friends and fans. This evening was planned for two groups but our friends The MBA Band have unfortunately broken up so it was up to The Cell to fill in the gaps. So as a opening band Michal, Martin and Tomas took the stage and performed acoustic blues. Then Milan and Leos joined them on stage and performed a few numbers with this „opening group“. Finally, David and Veronika took the stage and the proper group „The Cell“ started the main event. A fun time for all!
Friday, October 31st – Castle Club in Hranice. We were able to see our Moravian friends this past weekend in Hranice. This club is located underground and is a musician’s paradise. Musicians not only on stage but also in the audience! The fans in the audience were great and as musicians do, listened closely to everything we played! A great atmosphere and appreciative audience. Afterwards, we had a good time talking together with our peers.
Saturday, November 1st – Southern Rock Night in Kolin. We were happy to get an invitation again this year to this second annual event and we enjoyed seeing all of our southern rock friends and fans. The group „El Camino“ started the evening, followed by our good friends Blue Rocket which had two new background singers in the group. They sounded great. Then came the group Pumpa, which rocked the house. We took the stage last and at the end of the concert we played two songs from the repertoire of the MBA Band, who were in attendance. They took they stage with us and we had a good ole time to close out the evening. The founding members of The Cell’s fan club were also in attendance for this concert.
